Eleiko IWF Weightlifting Competition Plates
Eleiko IWF Weightlifting Competition Plates are some of, if not the finest competition plates on the planet. These IWF-certified bumpers have been used in the highest-level international competitions for years and they have a great reputation.
These plates are ideal for any lifting style, but they excel in Olympic weightlifting and even powerlifting given their low bounce and narrow width.

Features & Highlights
- IWF Approved – As the name implies, the IWF Comp Plates are approved to be used in IWF-sanctioned events. Each plate is embossed with an IWF logo.
- Dead Bounce – Eleiko doesn’t state a durometer rating on these plates, but they produce an extremely low bounce. Generally, competition-style plates carry a rating of between 90-94. When you drop these plates from overhead, you can rest assured that you’re not going to have to chase the bar around.
- Zinc-Plated Steel Disc – These plates use a zinc-plated steel disc, which looks much nicer than other zinc-plated discs, in my opinion. Most zinc hubs have been blasted to achieve a very textured look that I don’t care that much for relative to a more reflective chrome. These hubs from Eleiko are smoother and more reflective, but they won’t show smudges and fingerprints as much as chrome. One side of the hub includes 5 bolts for a very secure plate. The hole diameter is 50.4mm, which is standard for a competition plate, and which accommodates an Olympic-sized barbell very nicely.
- Raised Flanges– The outer edges of the plates are raised to help when picking the plates up from a flat position or otherwise carrying them. There is also a raised flange around the center disc to prevent metal-on-metal contact and to extend the life of the plates.
- Weight Offerings – Eleiko IWF Weightlifting Competition Plates can be purchased from 10KG up to 25KG and they’re sold individually. Therefore, the price you see on their website needs to be doubled. The price you see on this page is for a pair of 20KG plates. Eleiko does not offer these plates in sets.
- Plate Width – One of the biggest benefits of these competition plates is that they have a slim profile, which means you can load more onto the bar. Plate widths are as follows:
- 10KG – 1.34″
- 15KG – 1.65″
- 20KG – 2.13″
- 25KG – 2.52″
- Durability – These plates are extremely durable, whether in a commercial setting or in a home gym. They are built to sustain thousands and thousands of drops. Simply put, these are some of the most durable plates that money can buy.
- Weight Tolerance – The Eleiko IWF Weightlifting Competition Plates have a weight tolerance of up to +25g and -12.5g, which is very accurate and to be expected on a competition-style plate. Some plates do offer tighter tolerances of +/- 10g, but the Eleikos will probably fall within that range anyway.
- Aesthetics – These plates look amazing. The colors are vibrant, the contrasting raised white lettering pops, the higher flanges look nice, and the smoother zinc-plated hubs are a great touch.
