Titan Max Adjustable Bench

The Titan Max Adjustable Bench is one of the most adjustable FID (flat/incline/decline) benches on the market. It’s well priced and well regarded among users, but some specs lag behind some other options.

Read more below.

Features & Highlights

  • Telescoping Design – The Titan Max Adjustable Bench uses a telescoping spine, which isn’t as fast as a ladder-style, but which is very secure and looks nice.
  • # of Adjustments – The bench offers 9 back adjustments and 6 seat adjustments, making it one of the most adjustable benches on the market. The back pad ranges from 0 degrees to 85 degrees, and the seat can adjust to accommodate a -15 degree angle.
  • Pad/Seat Gap – This bench includes a sizeable seat gap that, by itself, would pose issues for many users in the flat bench position. Titan does include a separate wedge to place inside of this gap to help when performing a flat bench press. I question its overall comfort still, but it’s a solution worth noting. Still, if you perform a lot of flat bench press, a dedicated flat bench might be a smart decision.
  • Leg Attachment – This bench comes with an attachable leg mount for decline movements that slides into the back spine and locks in place with a pop-pin. A nice benefit of this attachment compared to others is that it includes a handle to assist in getting positioned.
  • Weight Limit – Titan reports a weight rating of 600lbs on the Max Adjustable Bench, which is quite a bit lower than other benches at 1,000lbs+.
  • Includes Wheels & Handle – This bench does include a handle and wheels for easy transport around the gym.
  • Front Foot – The front foot on this bench is slightly wider than some that use a single post. While it’s still not very wide, it may interfere with foot placement in certain positions.
  • No Upright Storage – The Titan Max Adjustable Bench doesn’t offer a vertical storage option.

What They’re Saying at titan.fitness

The Titan Max Adjustable Bench receives very good feedback from users. With an average rating of 4.9/5, here are some of the things people have said at titan.fitness:

Positive

  • “Incredibly solid bench with very nice padding and big adjustability. I am a very serious lifter, and this beats out or is equal to just about every bench I’ve used in commercial/hardcore gyms. When you compare its price with what’s included against any competitor its value is remarkable even without free shipping.”
  • “Love this bench. The decline option allows me to also perform GHRs and hip thrusts. Very versatile.”
  • “Received my Bench in 2 days! Assembled from online instruction manual in 20 minutes. Very sturdy, well made.”
  • “I took my time comparing benches from multiple companies. I settled on this Titan bench because I did not need to buy separate pieces and it had great reviews. Titan continues to improve its quality and this bench is no different. Solid, sturdy and versatile. I will be purchasing another one.”
  • “I have used a whole lot of benches in the past. Even the Rogue benches can’t compare. This bench is build like a tank and it is super comfortable. The little gab filler piece is excellent. The issue with the Rogue bench is that the metal piece that eliminated the inglorious space where you sit down is pain in the butt, it hurts my tail bone when doing flat bench presses. Don’t have that problem with the Titan bench. When used in the decline mode it’s awesome. Sturdy does not wiggle and provides very stable support. The width is perfect for shoulders I think. For the price of less then $500 delivered this bench should be marked as the best bench of the century I love my bench.
  • “After reading the reviews I decided to pull the trigger on this bench. I must say, I was not disappointed with the quality one bit! However, I was skeptical at first due to the adjustment design as It seem like it would have some sort of wiggle or play with the locking mechanism. But after my first workout my mind and wallet was at ease.”

Critical

  • “Lower adjustable seat goes up only 1 notch to about 15 degrees from flat (Titan should make this go up much higher, about 2 more notches). Pull-pin on the upper adjustable back part is not perfectly lined up with the notches (I have to pull on the rail of metal notches a little to have it click in).”
  • “Good sturdy bench for the price. A few issues that can be improved on as when I adjust the bench it does not align properly all the time to click in the holes. I’ve tightened the bolts a couple of times but, I hope this will not be a continuous issue. As noted from previous reviews, the bottom adjustment could use a couple of additional slots to elevate the seat. Again, only time will tell but at least there is a one year warranty on this bench.”
