10 Best Knee Sleeves in 2024: Squats, Compression, and Recovery

Garage Gym Lab is independent and supported by readers. We may earn commissions if you buy through our links.

Joining weight belts, lifting straps, and wrist wraps, knee sleeves are among the most popular and useful fitness accessories.

The biggest benefit of knee sleeves is that they provide compression around the knee joint. This keeps the joint warm and increases blood flow.

They can also provide a rebound effect, which may help you squat more weight. You can also use them in your rehab and prehab efforts to stay healthy and active.

We’ve tested dozens of knee sleeves from some of the biggest names in the industry. We’ve used them for squatting, running, recovery, and more. Here are some of the things we considered when making our list (more below):

  • Performance: How much compression do the sleeves provide? Who are they best for? Do they cause excess sweat?
  • Durability: Are they made of high-quality materials like neoprene and nylon? Is the stitching consistent?
  • Sizing: How well do the sleeves fit? Is there a wide range for different users? Do they stay in place?

In this article, I’ll share our top picks for the best knee sleeves for different price points, training goals, and more – all based on real experience. Whether you’re a powerlifter, CrossFitter, Olympic weightlifter, or just someone with achy knees, we’ve got you covered.

What are the Best Knee Sleeves?

We found the Rogue Knee Sleeves to have the best blend of performance and value. With 3, 5, and 7mm thicknesses, they’re suitable for all training styles. We liked the overall compression/comfort and found the quality to be as good as more expensive options. IWF & IPF approval along with multiple color options are just icing on the cake.

Summary

The Rogue knee sleeves are my top pick for most people. These USA-made sleeves are well-built and are available in multiple thicknesses. Rogue is known for making some of the highest-quality fitness gear, and these sleeves hit the mark.

The best feature of these sleeves is that you can use them across the exercise spectrum, which is why I picked them as the best for most people. Available in 3, 5, or 7mm, you can use them for running, CrossFit, powerlifting, and more.

Rogue 5m Knee Sleeves

I recommend the 5mm if you’re looking for a great all-around knee sleeve, but the 7mm is excellent for additional support (e.g., heavy squats) and the 3mm is perfect for additional range of motion. Also of note, the 7mm sleeves are approved by the IPF (International Powerlifting Federation) and IWF (International Weightlifting Federation), so you can use them in competition.

These sleeves are made with an SBR/neoprene blend, making them ultra-durable and comfortable. They have reinforced stitching throughout, and because of the contoured shape, they stay in place well during exercise.

Putting on the Rogue Knee Sleeves

Sizing on the Rogue knee sleeves is straightforward, and I love the smaller ranges because they lead to a better fit. To find the right size for you, measure the circumference of your leg 10cm (4″) below your kneecap and refer to the following chart:

SizeMeasurement
XS31cm – 33cm (12.2″ – 13″)
S33cm – 35cm (13″ – 13.8″)
M35cm – 37cm (13.8″ – 14.6″)
L37cm – 40cm (14.6″ – 15.7″)
XL40cm – 43cm (15.7″ – 16.9″)

The Rogue knee sleeves come in five colors: black, navy, royal blue, camo, and red. You can also customize them through the Zeus Builder for more colors, patterns, and designs.

Depending on thickness, these sleeves will cost you $55-$85. They’re not the most expensive, but they’re also not the least. That said, they offer strong value considering their durability and reputation.

Pros

  • Excellent reputation
  • Available in 3, 5, or 7mm thickness
  • SBR/neoprene blend is durable and
  • comfortable
  • Tight size ranges for a great fit
  • IPF and IWF approved (7mm)
  • Made in the USA

Cons

  • Not as many stock colors, but customization is available
  • 7mm sleeves are pricier than others

Summary

The Stoic knee sleeves are easily my favorite for powerlifting. I’ve been using these sleeves heavily since 2020, and they’ve performed brilliantly while offering excellent durability. They’re approved for use in the IPF, USAPL, USPA, and others.

These sleeves are specifically designed with the powerlifter in mind. Their 7mm thickness is very supportive for squats. At 11.8″, they’re also longer than other sleeves, giving you more coverage above and below the knee.

Stoic Knee Sleeves

One notable difference about these sleeves is that they’re built with a single reinforced seam on the side. Unlike others with seams in the back, these are more comfortable. There’s also minimal build-up behind the kneecap, which is less distracting.

Stoic knee sleeves fit tighter than others because they have a straight design vs. one that’s contoured. Powerlifters will appreciate the extra tightness, especially on heavier lifts. They’re available in seven sizes with very tight ranges.

Putting on the Stoic Knee Sleeves

Something to consider about these sleeves is that they’re more challenging to put on. I recommend starting with them inside out. Once you get them to just below your knee, flip them over your kneecap.

To get the right size, measure around your kneecap and refer to the chart below. However, if your calf is smaller or larger than your knee joint, I recommend using that measurement instead to prevent slippage or difficulty getting them into position.

SizeMeasurement
XXS27.5cm – 30cm (10.8″ – 11.8″)
XS30.5cm – 33cm (12″ – 13″)
S33.5cm – 36cm (13.2″ – 14.2″)
M36.5cm – 39cm (14.4″ – 15.4″)
L39.5cm – 42cm (15.6″ – 16.5″)
XL42.5cm – 45cm (16.7″ – 17.7″)
XXL45.5cm – 48cm (17.9″ – 18.9″)

In terms of price, the Stoic knee sleeves are highly competitive at $75 shipped. That puts them under Rogue and Rehband, but with better performance for powerlifting, in my experience.

Pros

  • Fully competition approved
  • 7mm thickness for excellent support
  • Tight fit with multiple size options
  • Outstanding durability
  • Single seam increases comfort

Cons

  • Requires extra effort to put on
  • Limited colors

Best Knee Sleeves for CrossFit: Rehband Rx Knee Sleeves

Summary

Rehband has been a prominent player in the knee sleeve game for decades. Their sleeves are known to perform well for years due to excellent construction and quality control.

The Rx line from Rehband is similar to the Rogue knee sleeves in that they’re available in 3, 5, and 7mm thicknesses. They’re also built with an SBR/neoprene blend with a four-panel design, making them durable and comfortable.

Rehband Rx 5mm Knee Sleeves

I recommend the 3mm or 5mm for CrossFitters because they’re more versatile than 7mm. The extra range of motion from the thinner sleeves is beneficial when you’re blending running and lifting. However, the 7mm option is IPF and IWF certified if you plan to also compete outside of CrossFit.

Putting on the Rehband Rx Knee Sleeves

Rehband Rx sleeve sizing is similar to Rogue, but with the addition of an XXS and an XXL, so if you’re a smaller or larger individual, these are the better option overall. Take the measurement 10cm (4″) below the kneecap and refer to the following chart:

SizeMeasurement
XXS29cm – 31cm (11.4″ – 12.2″)
XS31cm – 33cm (12.2″ – 13″)
S33cm – 35cm (13″ – 13.8″)
M35cm – 37cm (13.8″ – 14.6″)
L37cm – 40cm (14.6″ – 15.7″)
XL40cm – 43cm (15.7″ – 16.9″)
XXL43cm – 46cm (16.9″ – 18.1″)

These sleeves come in a wider range of stock colors than Rogue, but customization isn’t an option.

Another key difference is that the Rehband Rx sleeves are sold individually and are slightly more expensive. However, they do ship for free, so unless you get a shipping deal from Rogue, they’re only marginally more. They’re also not made in the USA (Estonia) if that’s important to you.

Pros

  • 3, 5, or 7mm thickness options
  • Durable SBR/Neoprene blend
  • Numerous stock colors
  • Competition legal (7mm)
  • Longstanding reputation
  • Additional sizing options

Cons

  • Pricier than most knee sleeves

Summary

The Rehband 7084 knee sleeves are the newest version of the classic Rehband 7051 sleeves. The new design is built similarly to the Rx sleeves, but they exclusively come in a 7mm thickness.

The biggest difference between these and the Rx sleeves is that the 7084 sleeves have a 2-panel construction (vs. 4). Fewer seams increase durability, especially at the back of the knee, and they may also be more comfortable for heavy squats. In my experience, these are some of the most comfortable sleeves on the market.

Rehband 7084 7mm Knee Sleeves

The Rehband 7084 sleeves are also IPF and IWF-approved, and the 7mm thickness is ideal for competition attempts. Like other 7mm sleeves, you can expect more warmth and sweat in these. Their slightly more contoured design, however, helps reduce slippage.

Putting on the Rehband 7084 Knee Sleeves

Finding the right size of these sleeves is similar to the Rx, but sizes XXS and XS are not an option with the 7084 model. Measure your upper calf 10cm (4″) below the kneecap and refer to the following chart:

SizeMeasurement
S33cm – 35cm (13″ – 13.8″)
M35cm – 37cm (13.8″ – 14.6″)
L37cm – 40cm (14.6″ – 15.7″)
XL40cm – 43cm (15.7″ – 16.9″)
XXL43cm – 46cm (16.9″ – 18.1″)

The 7084’s come in a single color: the classic Rehband blue. I love this color, but I wish they offered more variety in this style. If you prefer a different look, check out the Rehband 7mm Rx.

In terms of price, the Rehband 7084 sleeves are more expensive than most. You should expect to pay over $90 after shipping. However, given their performance and durability, they’re a great option for serious/competitive weightlifters.

Pros

  • 2-panel design is comfortable and durable
  • Small size ranges achieve a tight fit
  • 7mm thickness is very compressive
  • Competition-approved
  • Contoured design reduces slippage

Cons

  • Not great for small lifters
  • More expensive than others
  • Single color

Summary

Gymreapers has become one of the top names in quality, budget-friendly lifting accessories. They make some of my favorite wraps, straps, and belts, and their sleeves are another great option.

At 7mm, the Gymreapers knee sleeves are ideal for powerlifting. Their thick neoprene construction provides plenty of support for heavy squats, and they have a classic 3-panel design with reinforced stitching. They’re also IPF-approved, which is a big benefit for competitive powerlifters.

Gymreamers 7mm Knee Sleeves

With a contoured shape, these sleeves have a max length of 11″. I like the additional coverage for heavy lifting and found these to stay in place well. However, 7mm sleeves generate more warmth, which can increase sweat. Some adjustments may be necessary if you’re a heavy sweater.

Putting on the Gymreapers Knee Sleeves

Sizing on the Gymreapers knee sleeves covers a wide spectrum, but the ranges within each size are larger than Rogue and Rehband. Larger individuals will likely prefer these, but others may want to size down to ensure a tight fit. To find your size, measure directly around the kneecap and refer to the following chart:

SizeMeasurement
S30cm – 33cm (12.2″ – 13″)
M33cm – 36cm (13″ – 14.2″)
L36cm – 40cm (14.2″ – 15.7″)
XL40cm – 44cm (15.7″ – 17″)
XXL44cm – 47cm (17″ – 18.3″)

Aesthetically, the Gymreapers sleeves come in three colors: black/white, black/red, and ranger green. I’d love to see more options like those they offer on their other products, but the simple colors still look nice.

Pricewise, these are very affordable for 7mm sleeves. Higher-end sleeves with similar thickness can run $30+ more for a pair. These also carry a 1-year replacement guarantee, which is better than most budget options.

Pros

  • 7mm thickness is very supportive
  • IPF-approved
  • Increased coverage with an 11″ length
  • 1-year replacement guarantee
  • Great price

Cons

  • Limited colors
  • Wider size ranges (I recommend most to size down)
  • Causes more sweat

Summary

The ProFitness knee sleeves are a solid ultra-budget pick for a supportive 7mm sleeve. They’re not as high-quality or durable as some other sleeves, but they’re a nice option for those looking to save more money.

At first look, the ProFitness sleeves resemble the Gymreapers knee sleeves. They’re 7mm with a 3-panel neoprene construction and have a similar overall look.

Pro Fitness Knee Sleeves

Where they differ is in their length, stitching, and size consistency. On length, the ProFitness sleeves are slightly shorter at 10″. While I think 10″ is perfectly suitable for most people, I like the extra length of the Gymreapers for powerlifting.

The stitching on the ProFitness sleeves uses a thinner thread and isn’t reinforced in the same way as Gymreapers and other more expensive sleeves. As you may expect with budget sleeves, long-term durability won’t be as good as more premium options.

Putting on the Pro Fitness Knee Sleeves

The size chart ProFitness uses is the same as the Gymreapers chart, but the sizing is smaller and inconsistent in my testing. While I own mediums in both, the ProFitness sleeves are noticeably tighter. Additionally, one ProFitness sleeve was larger than the other, whereas my Gymreapers sleeves were perfectly consistent.

ProFitness does offer more color options, which is a nice benefit, but Gymreapers is the overall better choice in terms of performance and durability. If you’re not lifting very heavy weights and are just looking for a basic set of sleeves at a great price, the ProFitness knee sleeves are a good choice. Otherwise, I recommend paying a little extra for better quality.

Pros

  • Great price
  • 7mm thickness feels very supportive
  • Available in multiple colors

Cons

  • Inconsistent sizing
  • Stitching quality could be improved
  • Not competition-approved

Summary

The PowerLix knee sleeves are lightweight, breathable sleeves that are ideal for running, walking, and light weight training.

Built with a combination of nylon and spandex, the PowerLix sleeves are stretchy and very comfortable. They go on easily and are held in place with silicone strips at the top and bottom.

PowerLix Knee Sleeves

These sleeves aren’t overly thick at 2.5mm, making them less compressive that others. I don’t recommend these for weightlifting, but I think they’re great for running.

While the PowerLix sleeves do a good job of creating warmth, they’re more breathable than others. In other words, you won’t experience the same level of heat or sweat as you do in neoprene sleeves.

Putting on the PowerLix Knee Sleeves

Sizing for the PowerLix sleeves is determined by a measurement 5″ above the kneecap. This method leads to less consistent results, in my experience. If you have much bigger thighs than calves, you may get extra material bunching up near the knee. Generally, I recommend sizing down on these sleeves if you’re unsure. Refer to the following chart:

SizeMeasurement
S29.2cm – 34.2cm (11.5″ – 13.5″)
M34.5cm – 41.9cm (13.6″ – 16.5″)
L42cm – 49.5cm (16.6″ – 19.5″)
XL49.6cm – 59.6cm (19.6″ – 23.5″)
XXL59.9cm – 66cm (23.6″ – 26″)

Pricing on these sleeves depends if you buy them individually or as pairs. As singles, you have more color options, and pricing starts at around $20 for each. As a pair, you only get black, but they’re less expensive than even a single. A great benefit of the PowerLix knee sleeves is that you get a 6-month, no questions asked money-back guarantee.

Pros

  • 6-month, money-back guarantee (no questions asked)
  • Lightweight and comfortable
  • Breathable fabric
  • Sold as singles or pairs

Cons

  • Not as compressive as others
  • Sizing is more inconsistent
  • Silicone may peel if machine-washed

Summary

The Bear KompleX Lite knee sleeves are lightweight, minimalist sleeves with a different feeling than other options.

While most neoprene sleeves have a wetsuit texture with noticeable compression, the Bear KompleX sleeves feel more like a thick sock over your knee. That’s because they’re uniquely built with bamboo fabric (despite the Amazon description mentioning neoprene). In my experience, they’re great for creating warmth, and I love them for their range of motion and mobility qualities.

Bear KompleX LITE Knee Sleeves

However, I don’t recommend these for lifters, especially those pushing heavy weights. These are nice sleeves for those who plan to use them for basic activities like walking, bodyweight exercises, etc.

The fabric of these sleeves is form-fitting and stretchy. Although they have a 4mm thickness, they don’t provide as much support as 3mm neoprene sleeves. That said, they’re extremely comfortable and do a great job of warming the area.

Putting on the Bear KompleX Knee Sleeves

I recommend sizing down on these sleeves since each size range is fairly wide. You can find the right fit by measuring around your kneecap and referring to the following chart:

SizeMeasurement
S23cm – 28cm (9″ – 11″)
M28cm – 33cm (11″ – 13″)
L33cm – 38cm (13″ – 15″)
XL38cm – 43cm (15″ – 17″)
XXL43cm – 51cm (17″ – 20″)

You can buy these sleeves in black, gray, and pink. Pricing is excellent for the pair, but keep in mind these aren’t as compressive as neoprene sleeves.

Pros

  • Ultra-comfortable bamboo fabric
  • Excellent price
  • Ideal for light training and basic activities
  • Great at generating warmth

Cons

  • Little support for weightlifting
  • Not as durable as neoprene

Summary

The TheraICE sleeves are a unique addition to this list because, unlike the others, you don’t use these while training. Instead, you use them after for recovery.

As the name implies, these sleeves provide cold therapy to various places on the body. In addition to the knee, you can wear them around your ankles, calves, elbows, forearms, and thighs.

TheraICE Knee Sleeve

This sleeve uses a compressive fabric that’s very soft and comfortable. At 9mm thick and 10.5″ long, it provides good compression and coverage. It’s also noticeably heavier than traditional knee sleeves, which creates a nice sensory response.

I was pleasantly surprised by how long the TheraICE sleeve stays cold. After keeping it in my freezer for the recommended two hours, it remained cold for nearly 20 minutes. Some reviewers mentioned getting as much as 30 minutes of use.

Putting on the TheraICE Knee Sleeve

You can also use the TheraICE sleeve for heat treatment by putting it in the microwave for 15 seconds. The heat didn’t last nearly as long as the cold, so I doubt I’ll be using it much in this way.

Sizing for these sleeves ranges from small to extra-large and is based on where you plan to wear them. Unlike traditional sleeves, TheraICE sizes are based on height and weight using this chart. Also unlike other sleeves, they recommend sizing up if you’re unsure of your size.

If you like using ice therapy during recovery, coupling it with compression is a great one-two punch. TheraICE is a nice solution at an affordable price.

Pros

  • Provides cold and heat therapy
  • You can wear it on multiple body parts
  • Stays cold for 20+ minutes
  • Very comfortable
  • Affordable price

Cons

  • Sizing is based on height/weight, which may create challenges for unique bodies
  • Doesn’t stay hot for as long

Summary

The Neenca knee sleeves are another lightweight option with added support via side stabilizers and a patella gel pack. These sleeves are best for someone who’s coming off a knee injury and needs additional support through their recovery. They feel more like a knee brace than a sleeve at times.

The first thing to note about these sleeves is the gel pad that covers the patella like a donut. With a hollow center, the knee rests nicely inside the pad and is in better alignment during movement. I was concerned at first that it would be obstructive, but I found it quite comfortable. However, if the sleeves slide up or down, it could shift the pad, which feels awkward.

Neenca Knee Sleeves

The second thing to note is the side stabilizers on both sides of the leg. Measuring 9″ long, they bend with your movement to further stabilize the area. These stabilizers are flexible in all directions, but you can still feel them when performing squats, for example.

Putting on the Neenca Knee Sleeve

Like the PowerLix knee sleeves, the Neenca sleeves also include silicone beads at the top and bottom. They also use the same measurement method to determine size. However, the ranges are different per the following chart:

SizeMeasurement
XS26cm – 30cm (10.2″ – 11.8″)
S31cm – 35cm (12.2″ – 13.8″)
M35cm – 39cm (13.8″ – 15.4″)
L39cm – 45cm (15.4″ – 17.7″)
XL45cm – 52cm (17.7″ – 20.5″)
XXL52cm – 60cm (20.5″ – 23.6″)
XXXL60cm – 70cm (23.6″ – 27.6″)

I recommend most people use these for everyday activities and injury recovery. I don’t recommend them for intense weight training because of the stability features. Keep in mind these are sold as singles.

Pros

  • Extra support via a gel pad and side stabilizers
  • Breathable fabric
  • Soft and comfortable fit

Cons

  • Measurement method isn’t as consistent
  • Not very compressive
  • May feel awkward for some

Benefits of Knee Sleeves

Benefits of Knee Sleeves

Increases Support

The biggest benefit of knee sleeves is that they provide compression around the knee joint. Increased compression leads to greater support and more joint stability. Many who use appropriate knee sleeves report a perceived rebound effect at the bottom of a squat, which may help improve performance.

Additionally, increased support and stability can help during injury recovery.

Improves Proprioception

Proprioception is the understanding of our own body position through movement. Wearing knee sleeves provides physical feedback that enhances our ability to sense knee position. With better form and proper alignment, we can train more safely and efficiently.

Generates Warmth

Knee sleeves naturally create warmth, which helps keep the joint prepped for load or activity. This warmth may also be beneficial in cold weather, especially during outdoor activities.

With increased warmth and compression also comes increased blood flow, which can help reduce pain and inflammation.

How to Pick Knee Sleeves

Various Knee Sleeves being tested in a Garage Gym

Here are a few of the most important factors to consider when buying a pair of knee sleeves:

Materials

Knee sleeves geared toward lifting are generally made with neoprene or an SBR/neoprene blend. SBR, which stands for Styrene-Butadiene Rubber, is a synthetic material with excellent abrasion resistance and aging characteristics.

General-purpose sleeves may also include neoprene, but they’re commonly made with nylon, spandex, and other materials.

Thickness

Knee sleeve thickness is commonly measured in millimeters and is a key factor in determining how much support they offer.

The most common thicknesses are 3mm, 5mm, and 7mm:

  • 3mm (light support): Great for running, walking, bodyweight exercises, mobility, and general-purpose activities.
  • 5mm (medium support): Well-balanced thickness for all training styles.
  • 7mm (strong support): Best for heavy weight training and static movements targeting warmth around the knee joint.

Additionally, some companies make hybrid thicknesses of 4mm, 6mm, or less than 3mm.

Sizing

Finding the right knee sleeve size for your body is critical to achieving the best results. Not all knee sleeve manufacturers use the same measurement method, so it’s important to follow their specific instructions.

For example, companies may use upper calf, knee cap, or thigh measurements to determine the appropriate size. Generally, you’ll get a better fit with knee sleeves that offer more sizes and smaller ranges.

I recommend sizing down for those wanting a tighter fit (e.g., heavy lifters).

Length

An underrated factor in picking the right knee sleeve is length. You want a sleeve that provides enough coverage above and below the knee joint to maximize benefits. I recommend sleeve lengths between 10-12″ for most people.

Moisture Control

Because knee sleeves increase warmth, you’ll commonly sweat underneath, especially during exercise. Some sleeves are better at managing this moisture by having a tapered design or silicone strips to prevent slippage.

Generally, thicker neoprene sleeves create the most heat and sweat. If you’re a heavy sweater, I recommend sizing down to keep your sleeves in place during intense activity.

Durability

While materials are the primary factor in durability, stitching is very important. When knee sleeves fail, it’s often at the seams, so look for reinforced stitching throughout.

Cleaning

A common complaint of knee sleeves is that they begin to smell funky with sweat accumulation. This is especially true with neoprene sleeves.

I recommend hand-washing your sleeves every few weeks with a gentle cleanser to mitigate the smell and keep them in good condition. While some sleeves are machine washable, I advise against it since they aren’t as gentle. After cleaning, allow your knee sleeves to air dry – never put them in a drying machine.

Aesthetics

Most knee sleeves come in various colors. While I don’t recommend buying a pair of sleeves based on looks alone, it’s easy to find a pair that functions and looks great.

Price

Most neoprene knee sleeves range from $35 to $90 per pair. General-purpose sleeves are often less expensive, but I don’t recommend going for anything less than $15 since the quality will suffer.

The most important thing to look for when pricing knee sleeves is that some are sold as singles. That $40 price may look great, but it can be frustrating when it’s actually $80, and you find yourself with only one sleeve. Any product page will mention if the sleeves are sold as singles or pairs.

Honorable Mentions

  • Element 26 6mm Knee Sleeves: The 6mm knee sleeves from Element 26 are a great option for those who want good support, but better mobility than 7mm alternatives. I recommend these to functional fitness athletes who program heavier lifts. They didn’t make the main list because of their overall performance compared to the Rehband Rx sleeves. They’re also only available in two colors.
  • Iron Bull Knee Sleeves: The Iron Bull knee sleeves are a solid budget pick. They’re priced the same as the Gymreapers knee sleeves, but I didn’t think the quality was as good. At 7mm thick, they’re ideal for powerlifting, but their sizing also wasn’t as consistent.
  • Cambivo Knee Sleeves: The Cambivo Knee Sleeves are some of the most popular on Amazon. They’re similar to the PowerLix sleeves, but they didn’t make this list because their sizing starts 3″ larger than PowerLix. Therefore, smaller individuals will struggle to find a good fit. Alternatively, the Cambivo sleeves go larger by 2″, so bigger individuals may prefer these.
  • SBD Knee Sleeves: SBD is a household name in powerlifting. From weightlifting belts to knee sleeves, they’re one of the most well-known providers of powerlifting accessories. Their 7mm sleeves are approved by all federations, and they include a unique cross-stitched seam. They didn’t make the main list because of their higher price and stock issues.

FAQs about Knee Sleeves

  • Will Knee Sleeves Help My Squat?

Knee sleeves can help you squat more efficiently and with better form by increasing support and enhancing proprioception. Many users report higher squat numbers, although no scientific studies have shown a direct correlation between knee sleeves and bigger squats. Still, knee sleeves are very useful and can help your squat.

  • Are Knee Sleeves and Knee Wraps the Same?

While knee sleeves and knee wraps are both used to provide compression and stability around the knee, they are not the same. Knee compression sleeves are mostly made of neoprene and slid over the knee to help increase awareness, warmth, and blood flow. Knee wraps are made of elastic material and are tightly wrapped around the knee for the sole purpose of lifting more weight. Knee sleeves are much more versatile than knee wraps.

  • What Size Knee Sleeve Should I Buy?

Every knee sleeve manufacturer has a measuring guide to help find the right fit. Not all knee sleeves use the same method, so refer to their specific instructions. Measurements are normally taken around the upper calf, knee cap, or lower thigh. For a tighter fit and more compression, size down from your measurement.
