Griffin Competition Bumper Plates
Griffin Competition Bumper Plates are very accurate bumper plates with a beautiful aesthetic, a thin profile, a large center hub, and more.
These plates are ideal for any lifting style… Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, general-purpose, CrossFit, etc…
Griffin also sells a more economical black bumper plate.

Features & Highlights
- Dead Bounce – These plates have a shore durometer rating of 90, which ensures a very minimal bounce. Generally speaking, the higher the durometer, the lower the bounce. Competition bumpers typically have a minimum rating of 90 (up to ~94), so the Griffin Comp Plates are in-line with market standards.
- Zinc-Plated Steel Disc – The Competition Plates from Griffin use a zinc-plated steel disc, which have a slightly textured surface. While you won’t get the mirror-look like on chrome discs, the zinc does a great job at hiding smudges, finger prints, etc… A series of bolts on one side of the hub ensures a secure plate. The hole size measures 50.4mm, which is standard for competition-style plates and which leads to a very tight fit on the bar.
- Raised Flanges– The outer edges of the plates are raised to help when picking the plates up from a flat position or otherwise carrying them. There is also a raised flange around the center disc to prevent metal-on-metal contact and to extend the life of the plates.
- Weight Offerings – Griffin Competition Bumpers Plates can be purchased from 25LB up to 55LB and they’re sold in pairs. They’re also available in sets of 210LB and 320LB.
- Plate Width – One of the biggest benefits of these competition plates is that they have a thin profile, which means you can load more onto the bar. Plate widths are as follows:
- 25LB – 1.25″
- 35LB – 1.70″
- 45LB – 2.15″
- 55LB – 2.60″
- Durability – As expected with comp plates, these are extremely durable, whether in a commercial setting or in a home gym. They are built to sustain thousands and thousands of drops. In a home gym, they will last you years, and they come with a warranty of 3 years too.
- Weight Tolerance – The Griffin Competition Bumper Plates have a weight tolerance of +/- 10 grams, which is very accurate – again, as expected with plates of this caliber.
- Aesthetics – These plates look very nice. The colors are vibrant and the raised white lettering pops off the plate.
