Intek Bravo Series Bumper Plates

Intek Bravo Series Bumper Plates are quality black bumpers with a full center hub, a nice width profile, and strong overall performance. I have owned these plates for years and they’ve held up very nicely.

Features & Highlights

  • Low Bounce – Intek doesn’t state a durometer rating on these plates, but they offer a very low bounce. Typically, this style of plate will fetch an 88+ on the durometer scale. The higher the rating, the harder the material, and the lower the bounce.
  • Zinc-Plated Steel Disc – The Intek Bravo Series Bumper Plates use a zinc-plated steel disc, which doesn’t look as nice as chrome, in my opinion, but which functions very well.  The hubs have some texture to them, so they don’t create the same reflective qualities as chrome, but they also don’t show fingerprints, etc… The hole opening measures 50.4mm, which is consistent with competition-style plates and which will accommodate Olympic-sized bars nicely. The hubs are secured with six bolts on one side.
  • Raised Flanges– The outer edges of the plates are raised to help when picking the plates up from a flat position or otherwise carrying them.
  • Weight Offerings – Bravo Bumpers from Intek can be purchased from 25LB up to 45LB. These plates are sold individually. The price you see on this page is for a pair of 45LB plates. Intek does not sell these plates in a set.
  • Plate Width – A great benefit of these plates is that they have competition specs in terms of plate width, which means you can load a lot of weight onto the bar. Plate widths are as follows:
    • 25LB – 1.25″
    • 35LB – 1.7″
    • 45LB – 2.15″
  • Durability – These plates are built to withstand a lot of abuse, whether in a commercial setting or a home gym setting. The six-bolt full-hub creates a very durable plate that will last you years.
  • Weight Tolerance – Intek doesn’t claim a weight tolerance, however, most plates of this caliber offer +/-1%. Each of my Bravo plates is within this range.
  • Aesthetics – Aesthetically, these plates are basic, but nice looking. Raised lettering is always a good thing, and I like the gray text. The plates have a matte finish, which has held up well in my gym.
