Rogue B&R Bar – Women
The Rogue Women’s B&R Bar is a bare steel multipurpose bar developed alongside Mike Burgener and Mark Rippetoe.
Equipped with a 25mm shaft and dual knurl marks, the women’s B&R Bar is built for a variety of lifts, ranging from Olympic lifts to power lifts.
Everything about this bar is raw, including the shaft and the sleeves. It offers a 190,000 PSI tensile strength, grooved sleeves, and bronze bushings. The knurl is considered moderate in terms of aggressiveness and it does not include a center knurl.
This bar is made in the USA and it includes a construction warranty.

Features & Highlights
- Bare Steel – Bare Steel is the most cost-effective “finish” available because… well… it’s not finished in anything. Because of that, it ranks very highly in the ‘feel’ department. You’ll get a completely raw texture that provides outstanding grip. It also takes chalk very well. The downside to bare steel is that it’s very prone to oxidation. There is no preventing it, although 3-in-1 oil or similar is commonly used to mitigate it.
- 25mm Shaft – The 25mm shaft on the Rogue Bella Bar is a standard diameter on a female bar.
- No Center Knurl – The Women’s Rogue B&R Bar does not offer a center knurl, which is useful on high rep training sessions and/or in cases where a lifter wants a more comfortable bar.
- Grooved Sleeves – The sleeves on this bar have fine grooves that help keep the plates on the bar better when you’re not using collars. The downside is that grooved sleeves make an audible zip noise when loading/unloading plates.
- American Made – This bar is made in America.
What They’re Saying at Roguefitness.com
The Rogue Women’s B&R Bar receives good feedback from users. With an average rating of 4.8/5, here are some of the things people are saying at roguefitness.com:
Positive
- “The bar is perfect for my tiny hands. It’s been a great transition and I’ve increased my PR significantly since I started using it.”
- “We have five BR bars (two men’s and now three women’s bars) in our Starting Strength affiliate gym. They have become an instant favorite of our female lifters (ages range from 26-80) as our gym grows we will buy more of these. Rogue treated us well and shipping was fast.”
- “Slow lift or fast lift, this bar has fit the bill.”
- “I bought this bar for my wife to use for weightlifting, powerlifting and Crossfit WODs.
She loves it. This is a very high quality barbell for the price. It is very smooth. The knurling is different than any other barbell I’ve seen and I really like it. This is an excellent piece of American machining. 10/10 would recommend.” - “Purchased this for use by my wife and daughter – they were struggling a bit with my primary bar (B&R mens). The fact this bar is 10 pounds lighter makes it easier for them to maneuver between positions. And they have both commented that the , narrower bar diameter is more much more comfortable, and they feel they have better control. All good! And the quality is as I expected – outstanding.”
- “We just got this for our gym here in Tulsa, and we couldn’t be happier with it. The bare steel feel is outstanding — really makes me wish more of Rogue’s bars were offered in bare steel. It’s a bushing bar (bronze bushing), but it’s really got fantastic spin. There are those who argue that a well-made bushing bar is superior to a bearing bar even for Olympic lifts, and this bar could serve as an example. Overall construction, fit and finish is first rate. Very highly recommended.”
Critical
- “We picked up 3 of these bars and after one day of use, the rust was super obvious. These bars will require daily maintenance. Don’t recommend them for box use in humid areas. We’re in the Florida Panhandle. Otherwise.. good bar”
