Fringe Sport Econ Adjustable Bench

The Fringe Sport Econ Adjustable Bench is a basic flat/incline bench that doesn’t offer as many adjustment options as other benches, but still comes with a few nice specs including IPF height. Reviews are decent but limited.

Read more below.

Features & Highlights

  • Pop-Pin Design – The Fringe Sport Econ Adjustable Bench uses a sliding adjustment mechanism with a pop-pin to secure the position on both the back and the seat. Whenever you adjust the back, the seat moves in tandem. In this sense, you don’t get the same level of adjustment as with other benches where these two are independent. Assembly is required.
  • # of Adjustments – The bench offers 7 total adjustment options ranging from 0-90 degrees.
  • Pad/Seat Gap – There is a fairly sizable gap between the seat and the back when in the flat position. This can pose issues for some users when performing a flat bench press.
  • Weight Limit – Fringe Sport reports a 1,000lb weight capacity on the bench, which is in-line with other benches in this class.
  • IPF Height – One benefit of the Econ Adjustable Bench is that it sits 17″ tall in the flat position, which is right in the heart of IPF standards. Most users will be able to generate very good leg drive with a 17″ height. Having a single-post as the front foot also helps this, as users have more room to find a strong foot position.
  • Includes Wheels & Handle – Like most adjustable benches, this bench does include a handle and wheels.
  • No Upright Storage – This bench does not offer a vertical storage feature.

What They’re Saying at Fringesport.com

The Fringe Sport Econ Adjustable Bench receives OK, but limited feedback from users. With an average rating of 5/5, here are some of the things people have said at fringesport.com:

Positive

  • “As far as the product itself, I am extremely pleased with it. Very sturdy bench and functions between setting smoothly, a little stiff but I think that’s a good thing.”

Critical

  • “I am pleased with the bench and it has been a positive addition to my garage gym. But, the assembly directions were horrible. The directions were on one piece of paper which was barely readable. The parts listed on the page were not labeled the same as on the parts themselves. There was joy step-by-step process; it was just one picture with a bunch of lines. It took my almost two hours to assemble the bench. It was a frustrating process. Hopefully, Fringe will work with the manufacturers to remedy this.”
  • “Bench is well made, directions are completely bonkers, not very helpful, the video doesn’t seem to match the parts I rcvd. However, after taking my time in assembling – well worth the effort. Pad has held up over a few months with 3 users.”
