Fringe Sport Pro-Lift Incline Bench
The Fringe Sport Pro-Lift Incline Bench is the most well-designed bench that Fringe Sport offers. It has a few notable specs, and it’s received good, but limited user reviews.
Read more below.
Features & Highlights
- Ladder Design – The Pro-Lift Incline Bench from Fringe Sport includes a ladder adjustment system on both the back and the seat. Ladders are faster and easier to operate than other mechanisms. Some assembly is required.
- # of Adjustments – The bench offers 5 back adjustments and 2 seat adjustments for a total of 10 potential adjustment options. The back pad ranges from 0 degrees to 85 degrees, and the seat can accommodate a flat or inclined position.
- Pad/Seat Gap – The gap between the back and the seat on this bench is fairly small, which is one of the nicer features on this bench. It’s still evident, so some users may find it uncomfortable when performing a flat bench press, but it’s smaller than several other notable adjustable benches. If you’re a frequent flat bench presser, having a dedicated flat bench is probably a good idea.
- Pad Width – What could be considered a positive by some and a negative by others is the 11″ pad width. This is narrower than the more common 12″ width, but it ultimately comes down to personal preference. I prefer a 12″ pad.
- Weight Limit – The Pro-Lift Incline Bench has a 1,000lb rating, which is consistent with other benches in this class.
- Not IPF Height – This bench measures 18″ tall from the floor when in the flat position, which is not within IPF specs. While this isn’t egregious relative to the ~17.7″ IPF max height, it still may cause issues for shorter lifters in generating leg drive – another reason to consider a dedicated IPF-height flat bench if you do a lot of flat bench pressing.
- Includes Wheels & Handle – Like most adjustable benches, this bench does include a handle and wheels.
- Grippy Vinyl – This bench offers a textured vinyl that looks and feels better than Fringe’s other offerings. This will help reduce slippage while benching.
- No Upright Storage – This is not a vertical storage feature on this bench.
What They’re Saying at Fringesport.com
The Fringe Sport Pro-Lift Incline Bench receives very good, but limited feedback from users. With an average rating of 5/5, here are some of the things people have said at fringesport.com:
Positive
- “Great bench, it has a textured covering which I like, but others may not. I have a tremendous amount of confidence doing heavy lifts on the bench. I’d say it’s as good or better than most commercial gym benches. The gap between the seat and back support is 1 inch, which is nice, some less expensive benches have larger gaps. The backrest is 11″ wide which seems perfect for my body type.”
Critical
- “Can’t imagine this bench not holding up to the higher priced competition. Minimal gap so it is solid and wide for use as a bench press. The tack on the cushion is noticeable for flat and incline applications. Goes together easy enough and feels like a tank.”
